Summer Odori! a free concert of summer dances

July 18 - 2pm
Ron Basford Park Granville Island (near PerformanceWorks)

Dances of the season with TomoeArts and Otowa-ryu Japanese Dance

TomoeArts teams up with Otowa-ryū Japanese Dance to do a fun, outdoor concert of many kinds of Japanese traditional dances: minyo-buyoh (folk dance), ha-uta and naga-uta (classically derived dances) and even some yosakoi-soran! Joining us were special guests Eien Hunter-Ishikawa on taiko and with Alcvin Ryūzen Ramos on yokobue (transverse flute), and shakuhachi. Produced by NewWorks as part of their annual All Over the Map series.
