Mini Intro Course in Nihon Buyoh

  • Location: Scotiabank Dance Centre - 677 Davie Street (at Granville)
  • When: November 18 - December 16 @ 8-9pm
  • Cost: $125 + GST

Fujima Sayu will be teaching a 5 week mini-intro course. In this course you will learn how to bow, hold and open a dance fan, practice basic stance and movements for both male and female characters, and we will learn the opening phrases of two dances: one female and the other male.

  • - in person only - by registration (no drop-ins)
  • - maximum of 4 students
  • - you do not need to wear a yukata, but please wear tabi or white socks
  • - you will need a dance fan which can be purchased from TomoeArts ($40 + GST)

PLEASE NOTE: Dance Centre COVID protocols require that everyone must be fully vaccinated and you must present your vaccine card and ID at the front desk on entering the building. You must also wear a mask at all times while in the building.



TomoeArts also offers ongoing private and semi-private lessons in nihon buyoh (Classical Japanese Dance). Once or twice a year we offer introductory classes. We can also put together workshops for any age or any number - contact us for more info
