Current Classes & Workshops

Nihon Buyoh Group Classes

• Location: Scotiabank Dance Centre - 677 Davie Street (at Granville)
• When: Thursday 8pm
• Cost: $30+GST per class, paid either monthly or seasonally

Join master teacher Hanayagi Toshikotono in our ongoing group classes for those with little or no experience in Japanese dance. Learn the basics and one or more short choreographies.

We also offer Private Lessons (Beginner and Advanced)and Advanced Group Lessons; contact us for current availability.

• - in person only - by registration (no drop-ins)
• - maximum of 5 students
• - you do not need to wear a yukata (though it is recommended), but please wear tabi or white socks
• - you will need a dance fan which can be purchased from TomoeArts ($40 + GST)

Hanayagi Toshikotono began dancing at age two in Tokyo Japan under Hanayagi Shizutoshi. She earned her professional name at age 16 and her teaching license when she was 26. She has performed at the National Theatre of Japan multiple times, as well as dancing overseas in Paris. She has recently moved to Vancouver, and we are excited she has agreed to teach for TomoeArts!)
